Account Services Representative Fond du Lac Forest Office - Full-time Summary Under general supervision, but in accordance with established policies and procedures, is responsible for a wide range of duties related to depository accounts. These duties include solving customer problems, processing stop payments, reconciling, computer-oriented operations, various filing and statement duties, reviewing work for accuracy, deposit system maintenance, and various other projects. Essential Functions and Responsibilities
- Files checks and various other documents daily. This involves
some reaching, bending, and carrying of files weighing approximately
10-15 pounds.
- Assembles checks with corresponding statements for customer
mailing. Investigate problem statements such as insufficient checks,
etc.
- Answers customer and internal personnel questions, problems, and
processes money transfers. Works on various customer projects such as
getting copies of statements off fiche.
- Processing stop-payment orders - acknowledgement, notifying other
departments, applying charges, and locating stop payment checks.
- Enter any new accounts, changes in account types, and keyword changes. This includes DDA, savings, CD's, and cash reserve.
- Verify signatures on all checks over $7500.00 for non-consumer and $5000 for consumer.
- Mails correspondence to customers on various occasions to inform them of a situation.
- Separates reports and distributes them to appropriate areas daily.
- Performs other duties as assigned or needed.
Education & Skills
- Ability to deal effectively and tactfully with customers and coworkers.
- Ability to problem-solve in order to recognize irregular or
suspicious transactions and taking appropriate steps to prevent loss.
- Ability to be mobile in order to meet customers at switchboard and to transfer files and other items to different locations.
- Good knowledge of computer-generated reports and procedures as they affect departmental operations.
- Ability to operate equipment such as a PC, calculator, typewriter, copier, fax machine, fiche reader, and filmer.
- Awareness of the necessity for confidentiality, and ability to
recognize a customer request that may be a breach of confidentiality.
- A high school diploma or equivalent.
- Three to six months of on-the-job training to become familiar with departmental procedures.
Working Conditions
- Length of work day is unpredictable. May have to work long hours to complete duties due to computer failure or heavy work load.
- Excessive visual effort may occur do to continued use of PC and reviewing many reports, checks, etc.
