Loan Representative
Westfield-Full-time

Summary

Under general supervision, but in accordance with established policies and procedures assists lending officers in connection with commercial loan activity. Monitor and follow up on loan expectations, securing necessary documents, insurance, etc. Contact delinquent customers, work to establish payment plan and document agreements. Provide loan officers with information on status of existing problems, and alert them to new/possible loan issues. As appropriate, provide established loan customers with consumer, mortgage and similar retail loans.

Essential Functions and Responsibilities

  • Provide commercial lending department with assistance in variety of areas; including exception clean up, delinquecy follow up, customer contact. etc.
  • Monitor reports for exceptions, delinquencies, and related issues.  As appropriate, take necessary steps to resolve issues or inform lender of the issue for further direction or action by the lender. 
  • Monitor documentation to ensure that items are being received and exceptions are being cleared up.
  • Identify risk to the bank's loan portfiolio and assist in managing that risk. 
  • Prepare reports for lenders and senior managers.
  • Assist credit department on an as needed basis.
  • Assist in producing and general overview of the quarterly report.
  • Performs other duties as assigned or needed.

Education & Skills

  • A high level of analytical ability to review existing reports, identify exceptions, deliquencies, etc.
  • Ability to perform a wide variety of tasks related to the lending area and ability to quickly change focus as needed.
  • Understanding of bank policy and procedures relative to commercial lending.
  • Ability to operate standard office equipment, including a financial calculator, PC with Microsoft Word and Excel, and other standard office equipment as assigned.
  • A bachelor's degree in finance, accounting or economics..
  • Prior training as a credit analyst or related area preferred.

Working Conditions

  • Some extensive visual effort is required.  Work may involve long periods of time working at computer monitor.
