A Message to our Visa Buxx customers:

Our Visa Buxx card has filled a unique need for our customers. It is with regret that we find it necessary to discontinue offering this product.

As you may be aware, our Visa Buxx Web site has been unavailable since mid December. At that time we became aware of inappropriate use of the site by unknown individuals outside of the United States. All customer information is and has been secure.

The site is maintained by VISA and it is not known at this time, when or if a change will be made so the inappropriate use of the site is no longer possible. National Exchange Bank and Trust feels that it places our customers and the bank at an unacceptable risk and has made a decision to discontinue this Web site and our Visa Buxx cards on a permanent basis.

All Visa Buxx cards issued by National Exchange Bank and Trust will become inactive as of the end of January 2006. At that time any funds on the Visa Buxx card will be moved back to the funding account attached to the CheckCard. If more than one account is attached it will be deposited to the checking account.

We apologize for any inconvenience this might cause you and want to provide some suggestions on other methods you can use to provide funds to another person over the Internet or telephone on a real time basis. Please review the following options and contact your nearest National Exchange Bank and Trust office for assistance.

Options to replace Visa Buxx Card Capabilities

1.) Create a joint checking account between you and your child and issue a VISA CheckCard in the child’s name. You can monitor the account activity by using our free consumer internet banking service called Exchange Online or our toll free account access number called Exchange Line. There is no need to have checks printed and funds can be instantly transferred from another account of yours at National Exchange Bank and Trust through either service. The VISA CheckCard can be used to make a purchase anywhere that accepts VISA as well as obtain cash from an ATM.

Your child, as a joint account holder has equal authority on this account, you as the adult joint account holder are responsible for any activity initiated by your child.

Fees on this account may or may not apply based on the amount of your balance as well as other relationships you may have with National Exchange Bank and Trust.


2.) You can purchase an American Express Travel Card for your child. You fund the card from any credit card. This card can be used to make a purchase anywhere that accepts American Express and obtain cash at an ATM.

The American Express Travel Card has an initial purchase price of $14.95 with additional fees for additional loads and usage at an ATM.


3.) You can purchase a VISA Gift Card from many of our National Exchange Bank and Trust offices. The VISA Gift Card can be used to make a purchase anywhere that accepts VISA, however, the card cannot be used to obtain cash at an ATM. This card cannot be reloaded at this time.

VISA Gift Cards has an initial purchase price of $5.00 per card.
