With the hustle and bustle of the holiday season in full swing, you may have let security slip to the back of your mind. Here are a few quick tips to help you complete your holiday shopping safely:

1. DO NOT trust links in an email and be aware of online scam tactics.
An email may look like a legitimate message from a retailer you buy from all the time – cyber criminals are very good at mimicking the real deal. Instead of following a link in an email, type the URL into the address bar. You may also consider limiting your online shopping to merchants you know and trust.

2. Consider the security of the device and location of where you make online purchases.
Do not use public Wi-Fi to do your holiday shopping, and consider who may be watching you make purchases. On your devices, check to make sure all operating system updates have been installed and all security software is up-to-date as well.

3. Review your accounts often to verify authorized transactions.
Use Exchange OnLine, mobile banking, your statement and SecurLOCK™ Equip to help you quickly and easily manage your accounts.

4. Recognize when you are distracted and stay alert.
When using the ATM, be aware of your surroundings, note if anything looks different about the ATM and hide the key pad when entering your PIN. Keep these same safety tips in mind at retail stores as well.
